Christmas 2012

Seasons Greetings! It's been an epic year for the Visual Monkies and we'd like to take a short moment to thank you for helping to make it happen. 2012 saw two of the films that we worked on screened in festivals around the world. Firstly, The 25th Reich a sci-fi feature, for which we rotoscoped key sequences involving the villainous Nazi Robot Spiders, has been screened at the Puchon International Film Festival, Perth's Revelation International Film Festival and recently here in our home turf at the Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF)...

Orphic Poster Art

In October 2012 the Visual Monkies entered the "Pitch, Win, Fly" competition at QPIX. The competition revolved around pitching an idea for anything (feature film, TV series etc) of any genre to a panel of producers who would assess your idea, pick a winner and send that person to SPAA, to pitch in front of a room full of producers that could make your project happen. This was a great experience for us and even though (spoiler alert) we didn't win, we learned many valuable things in the process...

There's always a bigger fish

Over the last few months the Visual Monkies have been eagerly working away on a secret project. Juggling it with our phantom limbs and somehow squeezing it in amongst our commissioned work. It gives me great joy to officially announce "Bigger Fish" a 3D short film that raises the question, "Who is the bigger fish?" Whilst I can't reveal too many plot details at this point, we've decided to start this blog to document the process of making the film (and to document some of our more creative works)...
